About Robin

Robin Zimpel, MA, LCPC

The decision to seek counseling is not an easy one and finding the right fit is crucial. I have enjoyed working with a variety of people since beginning my career in counseling 6 years ago. I approach my work from a client centered and systemic perspective. This means that I start with an understanding of the client’s point of view. The client and I then work together to get a clear picture of how problems have developed in the client’s primary relationships, as well as how they have influenced both family dynamics and relationships. My goal is always to create a safe, trusting, and supportive environment that allows the individual to examine and clarify issues that concern them, seek effective solutions, and therefore create positive change in his or her life.

I received my Master of Arts degree from Saybrook University in Psychology-Systems Counseling and my Bachelor of Science from University of Idaho in Psychology with a minor in Communication. I have been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization. I use this approach as well as many others to cater to the needs/wants of my clients.

In my free time I enjoy getting outside and spending time with family, friends and my sweet little dog, Jake. I volunteer with 7B Hope which is a group that has come together to help adolescents in the Sandpoint community achieve strength and success. I also work on our local crisis line, North Idaho Crisis Services Help Line.
